Thanks so much for stopping by our site! We’re Dave and Robin Carlan, a husband and wife portrait and wedding photography team. We live in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

More “About Us”

We’ve been asked many times by our clients to share a bit more about us, I guess they think we’re more interesting than WE do! In an effort to accommodate their wishes and further enlighten future clients as to what makes us ‘tick’ here are some random facts about us:

-We met in Phoenix Arizona while David was playing in a band and Robin was a secretary for a home builder.

-We tied the knot in June, 1982. 41 years ago!

-We have three amazing, smart, talented kids. They’re all grown up now, two are serving in the Air Force and the other is an international marketer for a gaming company in the UK.

-We have three Fur Kids, Payton, Piccolo and Halas (Hallie). They're all named after famous Chicago Bear football players, Walter Payton and Brian Piccolo and of course 'Papa Bear' Halas. 

-We LOVE the Chicago Bears.

-Dave’s favorite movie is Brian’s Song.

-Robin’s favorite movie is Tammy & the Bachelor (1957). When Robin was 8 years old she met Debbie Reynolds and her daughter Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) in Las Vegas.

-Dave owns 6 guitars. He’s played for over 50 years. Dave loves ‘oldies’ music.

-Robin doesn’t play an instrument.

-Dave is an IT guy and when he's not taking pictures, he's writing programs.

-Robin studied theater and dance at Winthrop University. She worked as an assistant casting director on 5 feature films and a tv mini-series before graduating.

-Dave is a private pilot. 

-Robin is a health nut and considers herself a 'Citizen Scientist'.

-David hates to work yard work.

-Robin loves animals and to work in the garden and would love to own a farm someday.

-Dave is an Air Force brat and has lived all over the US and in Japan.

-Robin grew up in Salt Lake City but has officially adopted the city of Chicago as her hometown.
 

-In our free time we like to play with the dogs, air shows, hanging out with friends, travel, live music, martinis (duh!) Photoshop/photography seminars and taking pictures. (We’re hopelessly in love with photography)

-We both volunteer for Operation Photo Rescue and Operation Love Reunited (see our ‘On the House’ section to find out what those are) We’ve been so blessed, we believe it's really important to give back.

-We are both passionate about animal rescue - and are devoted to helping in any way we can! Robin volunteers for German Shepherd Rescue and Adoption - a local GSD rescue that re-homes and fosters GSDs in NC, SC and VA. (See their link in our On the House section) 

-We’ve been photographers for over 40 years. Robin worked at a studio in high school, as a retoucher and photographer’s assistant. We opened Lasting Images Photography in 1984 which operated until we moved to South Carolina in 1991.

-We love to laugh...out loud.

-We are very serious about making sure you have the experience of a lifetime with us and Pink Martini.

-We take very little else seriously...including ourselves, and we can't wait to meet you!
